Lyn interviewed on GosuGamers
Written on January 19, 2010 – 20:38 | by roy_chez
June “Lyn” Park has recently moved away from SK Gaming’s Warcraft 3 team to join the legendary Korean eSports organization, WeMade FOX. GosuGamers saw this as a good reason to interview Park and so they did. Questions vary from his new team member, Moon and to his 2009 achievements.
Here is a small and quite funny snippet from the interview:
How’s your dorminory life with Moon?
- Moon is an incommunicative person, but a common joke also can make him laugh out for a while. It didn’t take me a long time to become intimate with him. So allow me to change him, until some day he can dance in public! (laughs)

Meet Your Makers signs CHIEFTEC
Written on January 19, 2010 – 20:20 | by roy_chez
The German based gaming team, Meet Your Makers (MYM) has signed with computer case manufacturer, CHIEFTEC.
MYM is on a sponsor signing streak, as it was only last week when the organization signed with gaming gear manufacturer, RAZER. With this, MYM has a total of three sponsors (Puma, CHIEFTEC and RAZER) and thus are finally ready to establish themselves among the worlds greatest.
Statement by Khaled Naim, Marketing Manager for MYM on their site:
“For 20 years, CHIEFTEC has been manufacturing computer cases which has earned them a worldwide reputation for high quality and standard. One of CHIEFTEC’s main advantages is having an exclusive understanding of today’s market coupled with the demand to effectively anticipate and service customers needs promptly. There is a vastly extensive product array, in which all of them meet the customers need for reliability, performance and quality. More over, each CHIEFTEC product offers the correct power supply component solution, making especially resource-saving. A wide range of useful products rounds of the spectrum of CHIEFTEC, with many instrumental accessories from external hard disk housing and discrete cooling fans. CHIEFTEC in this case, you can trust!”
I wish them the best of luck. Whether or not they will be signing more sponsors or even new teams soon, I do not know, but I will keep you updated as always.
MCA.Tweak signs two new sponsors
Written on January 18, 2010 – 22:20 | by roy_chez
MCA.Tweak has recently been hitting the scene with two of the best Dutch teams in Counter-Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4. The organization has also been picking up some sponsors in the meanwhile, by taking in ZOWIE Gear first, then Tweak as head sponsor.
Now the organization has signed GamersUniform, known from designing the shirts of FnaticMSI, H2k Gaming and more, who will be designing their shirts. The other sponsor is Just Eat!, a company where you can order food. The last one hasn’t been officially announced on the MCA.Tweak website, but Arno Gerritsen, Founder and Owner of MCA.Tweak, has twittered about it.
We are really excited about the development of MCA.Tweak and hope they will keep bringing exciting news and keep developing Dutch eSports.

ESL announces Intel Extreme Masters Season 4 – QL plays supporting role
Written on August 5, 2009 – 22:54 | by roy_chez
ESL has announced its fourth season of the Intel Extreme Masters. Counter-Strike and World of Warcraft will receive the main attention and will have 500.000$ spread over six events, spread over the year. The opening will be at GamesCom at August 19-23.
At the same event, Quake Live will have some sort of side event, called the QuakeLive Intel Extreme Masters Pro/Am Challenge. People from the crowd can participate this and the winner will take home 1.000$.
“I know the game, I value the game… we are working very hard to make the season happen with QuakeLive”, Michal “carmac” Blicharz explained. “The fact that I just want it in does not instantly get it in, but I am doing everything in my power to make sure it is.”
I am personally quite disappointed and hoped for a bigger part for Quake Live. Unfortunately this is not true, but let’s hope for more ESL events to come!

Spart1e wins ClanBase Duel Cup
Written on August 2, 2009 – 23:56 | by roy_chez
This evening Sebastian “Spart1e” Siira from Sweden faced SK Gaming’s Bogdan “bodzo” Mazur in the Grand Final of ClanBase’s Duel Cup. Both players are considered as top players within the scene and a exciting final was expected.
The first map, however, did not prove to be that exciting. dm13 was taken by Spart1e with 9-1 and bodzo looked to be without a chance. But the Polish player didn’t drop his pants and started to pick up his game on map two, ztn. The Pole started off strong taking a 6-2 lead. Then Spart1e came back. He gained control and tied it up to 6-6 and it staid like that until the very first seconds of the overtime. Spart1e took the 7-6 and won map number two.
As the Grand Final was BO5, a third map had to be played, tourney7. Again, the Swede was too strong and won t7 with 7-4 and took home the gold.
